Amid Omicron challenge, DM imposes restrictions from Jan 15

Nawanshahr, January 3, 2022: Keeping in view the recent challenge posed by COVID-19 and its new Variant Omicron, District Magistrate Vishesh Sarangal has issued advisory and restrictions on the movement of the persons in public places, who are not fully vaccinated so far. These restrictions issued under under section 144 of CrPC 1973, will come into force from January 15, 2022.

District Magistrate further said that to contain and manage COVID-19, in public places with large gatherings like Sabzi Mandi, Grain Markets, Public Transport, Parks, religious places, Malls, shopping complexes, Local Market and other similar places only fully vaccinated (those who have taken second dose of Covid Vaccination) adult persons or those who are not due for second dose as per health protocol are to be allowed.

Similarly, all Government/Board/Corporation offices located in District Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar allow only fully vaccinated (those who have taken second dose of Covid Vaccination) Adult Persons (including their employees) or those who are not due for second dose as per health protocol. Apart from these, Hotels, Bars, Restaurants, Mall, Shopping Complexes, Cinema Halls, Gym and Fitness Centers to allow only fully vaccinated (those who have taken second dose of Covid Vaccination) Adult Person (including their employees) or those who are not due for second dose as per health protocol. Both Private and Government Sector Banks have also been asked to allow only fully vaccinated (those who have taken second dose of Covid Vaccination) Adult Persons (including their employees) or those who are not due for second dose as per health protocol.

He said to show vaccination status (in case of COVISHIELD beneficiary will be eligible for second dose after 84 days from first dose and in case of COVAXIN, beneficiary will be eligible for second dose after 28 days from first dose), one can keep downloaded copy of certificate of second Dose (Hard/Soft Copies), first dose certificate to check if second dose is due or not.

In case, persons not having smart phones, text message sent via COWIN portal (NHPSMS) may be considered for successful vaccination or Arogya setu app can be used to check vaccination status.
