New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS) Amidst raging controversy over alleged theft of donations and valuables in the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex, a heartwarming story of honesty and uprightness has become the talk of the town, with the locals and pilgrims both praising the honest act of an attendant.
The attendant of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir set a shining example on Sunday with his upright act. He returned a diamond-studded gold chain, valued at approximately Rs 20 lakh, which he found lying on the road to its rightful owner.
Upon recovering the lost chain, the female devotee was overwhelmed with emotion, with the latter saying that this meant much more than a piece of jewellery. It is a symbol of her late husband, making its emotional value far greater than its monetary worth.
Dhruvesh Mishra, who purportedly serves as an attendant at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, found the diamond-studded gold chain on the road leading towards Hanuman Garhi on Saturday.
The chain is estimated to be worth around Rs 20 lakh.
Dhruvesh Mishra, with an intention to return it to the rightful owner, visited the PFC office and got a public announcement done. Following the announcement, Nirmala Devi—a devotee from Muzaffarnagar and wife of Mohan Kumar came forward to claim the diamond-studded chain.
The chain was handed over to her after necessary inquiries and verification were conducted in the presence of police personnel.
Upon receiving the gold chain back, Nirmala Devi explained that it had immense emotional significance for her as this was given to her by her late husband.
This act of honesty comes at a time when the Ayodhya temple is surrounded by controversies, including alleged temple donation theft and misappropriation of cash offerings.
In recent times, disputes have arisen around temple offerings and donation funds in Ayodhya. Questions have been raised from time to time concerning the counting and management of offerings at the Ram Temple.
