Aman Arora explores end to end solutions for infra needs in municipal & agro waste based CBG Project with UK based firm

Chandigarh, April 28, 2023: To find a sustainable and scientific solution to problem of agro-residue and Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in the state, Punjab New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Aman Arora deliberated on exploring end to end solutions for infrastructure needs to utilise MSW and agro-residue to generate Compressed Biogas (CBG) with UK based firm M/s. Carbon Masters and M/s. Hasiru Dala Innovations here at PEDA complex.

Notably, Aman Arora had visited Bengaluru last month to study generation of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Compressed Biogas (CBG) from Municipal waste and Agriculture residue. He had also held deliberations with these firms and extended an invitation to them to visit the state and explore feasibilities to set up plants in Punjab.

Aman Arora along with PEDA Chairman HS Hanspal and Chief Executive Officer Ravi Bhagat welcomed the M/s. Carbon Master’s Co-founder Som Narayan and Director Kevin Houston and representative of M/s. Hasiru Dala Innovations.

Inviting them to ‘Invest in the Best’, Aman Arora said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led state government has a vision to bring Punjab on number one in terms of production of green and clean energy, and to achieve this goal the state government has been offering the fiscal incentives, besides giving exemption from Stamp duty and charges on registration of Land Lease/Land Purchase, electricity duty, CLU & EDC charges etc. Apart from this, Single window Clearances have also been providing via Invest Punjab.

Representatives of M/s. Carbon Masters and M/s. Hasiru Dala Innovations showed keen interest to invest in Punjab. Mr. Aman Arora asked them to submit a proposal to Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) in line with the policies/guidelines of the state government for allocation of CBG Projects based on paddy straw. He directed the PEDA officials to provide them a list of Tehsils to choose a location to set up plants. He also asked the Local Government officials to explore the modalities for the allocation of CBG projects based on Municipal Solid Waste.
