Jain College, a leading institution in Chennai dedicated to academic excellence, proudly hosted the flagging off of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra scheme at Gyan Bhavan on Friday, by the Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Anurag Singh Thakur.

Chennai, December 22, 2023: A.M. Jain College, a leading institution in Chennai dedicated to academic excellence, proudly hosted the flagging off of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra scheme at Gyan Bhavan on Friday, by the Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Anurag Singh Thakur. 

The event was graced by Thiru. M. Annadurai, IIS, Additional Director General Press Information Bureau, and Thiru. K. Kunhammed, State Director, NYKC Tamil Nadu & Puducherry. This momentous occasion, jointly organized with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, marks a significant advancement in promoting awareness and overseeing the execution of crucial central government schemes.

 
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a strategic government initiative, is designed to identify and reach eligible individuals yet to benefit from flagship schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Surkasha Bima, PM SVANidhi, and others. The Yatra was launched by the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15 from Khunti, Jharkhand to saturate the benefits of central government schemes across the nation.
 

Addressing the students,  Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur, said, “The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra scheme plays a pivotal role in fostering positive change by actively engaging communities across India. Through various programs, it addresses crucial aspects of development, ranging from education and skill enhancement to health and social welfare. This initiative has been instrumental in empowering citizens, fostering inclusivity, and contributing to the overall progress and well-being of the people of India.” Noteworthy, the Minister also alluded to ongoing initiatives dedicated to enhancing sports facilities at AM Jain College.

This is a nationwide campaign focused on reaching the unreached and ensuring the effective delivery of government schemes to every corner of the country. The Yatra is set to cover all Gram Panchayats, Nagar Panchayats, and Urban Local Bodies. 
The scheme is structured around four primary objectives: reaching the unreached, disseminating information, engaging with citizens through their experiences, and enrolling potential beneficiaries.
