Ludhiana, December 31, 2025: The SCD Govt college Ludhiana’s alumni in a virtual discussion on new year wish for the city they have urged authorities to solve pending issues of the city like Buddha Dariya water pollution, traffic management and air pollution etc.
They urged Zero Tolerance for encroachments on pavements by the shopkeepers. Cyclists’ lanes will be given. More PCR on motor bikes be deployed to enforce traffic discipline and controlling crime like snatchings and thefts. City’s environmentalists are already sensitizing people about Buddha Darya pollution; the pollution control board must rein in polluters. Rose Garden Mini Library will be restored without further delay. Departmental websites are updated regularly on a daily basis. Alumni rued the falling standards of politics on such issues as politicians are always on a blame game. Solutions must be found by consensus. People are feeling marginalised, they said.
Further, all gave a call to strengthen communal harmony and caution people about designs of divisive forces for their selfish agendas. Alumni hoped that the city's intelligentsia must assert themselves to speak about issues. Let this city become a city worth living, they said. Those who participated are K B Singh, Prof P K Sharma, Com. K S Jolly, Narinder Singh Masson and others.
