Chandigarh, November 10, 2022: Alumni and Peer Mentoring coaching classes for aspirants of UGC-NET/JRF in Home Science kickstarted today, in Government Home Science College, Chandigarh. These classes being organised by the placement cell of the college will facilitate better learning and mentoring to advance learners, students and alumni of the college, who aspire to clear this competitive exam. As many as 130 registrations were received from all over India for the classes which are being conducted in online mode keeping in mind the busy schedule of participants. The mentor- educators include: Akshata Verma, Asst. Prof. and Ph.D. Scholar, Department of Family Resource Management, GHSC-10; Alumna Tania Sharma, Asst. Prof., SD College, Chandigarh; Alumna Urvashi Khanna, Ph.D. Research Scholar and a faculty in AAA Bright Academy and Alumna Dt. Anupreet Kaur Sobti, Health and Nutrition Life Coach and Founder, Dietaura.

On the first day of class, as many as 80 students attended the session. The students were oriented about the scope of UGC-NET/JRF, the exam pattern and the study plan for cracking this examination. The syllabus was also shared with the students which was followed by a preparation session of Paper I. The students enthusiastically attended the classes and also cleared their doubts related to the topics. A great feedback was received from the students.

Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal, motivated the students and urged them to take full advantage of this 30-hour crash course of UGC-NET/JRF kickstarted by the alumni of the college.
