All officials to ensure timely submission of utilisation certificates related to development projects: DC

Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma today directed all the Executive Officers (EOs) of all Municipal Councils/Committees, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana officials and other staff of local bodies department to ensure that Utilisation Certificates (UCs) of all completed development works should be submitted on time so that they can be submitted with the state government.

    The Deputy Commissioner said this while chairing a monthly review meeting of development works being carried out by all government departments at Bachat Bhawan, here today. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr Sandeep Kumar, besides several other senior officials were also present on the occasion.

    Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma urged the officials to ensure that every single penny allocated to them for development should be spent for the welfare of the common man. He said that officials should achieve their targets of development works on time and that funds meant for development should not lapse at any cost.

    He also directed the officials to ensure that maximum number of people are benefited from the government welfare schemes, and for this purpose, awareness camps should be organised in the district.

    Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma warned the officials that any lapse on their part would not be tolerated and there should be optimum use of public money.
