ALL INDIA COLLEGES URGES AICTE TO RELEASE SECURITY DEPOSITS

All india colleges expresses concern over paying salaries to staff due to shortage of funds
Ludhiana: Federation of Self Financing Technical Institutions (FSFTI) expressed its concern on the circular issued recently by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi directing all the technical Institutions of the country to pay the salary to the staff and not to charge any fees from the existing students during the lockdown which is practically not possible. The discussions were held by 15-20 state unaided technical colleges associations through video conferencing.
AICTE should release FDRs, Endowment Funds, PMKVY, PMSSS funds to bail out the Colleges from financial crunch
Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, FSFTI and Sri K V K Rao, General Secretary, FSFTI urged AICTE to immediately release Endowment Funds, FDRs, Security Deposits to the colleges. Kataria further added that apart from this AICTE should also release the due amount of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) to assist the unaided technical institutions of the Country.
Centre should release PMS
Kataria & Rao further requested Centre Govt to release the due amount of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) to all the States of the Country. Kataria added that Centre should also release 1500 crore of PMS to Punjab Govt at the earliest.
AICTE should release Pharmacy Colleges FDRs
Sri P Selvaraj, Treasurer, FSFTI said that AICTE should release the funds of those Pharmacy colleges also who have decided to discontinue with the AICTE from this session.
