All India Agricultural Students Association meets Punjab Governor

Ludhiana, March 19, 2014: All India Agricultural Students Association including Gurraj Singh Dhillon President Punjab, Karanvir Singh Sandhu President PAU Ludhiana, Raja Jagbir Singh Gill Chairman Anti-Ragging Cell Punjab, Rajbir Singh Sran, State Coordinator Punjab, Harkirat Singh State Secretary, Sukhvir Singh State Coordinator have met with Governor of Punjab Shivraj V Patil at Chandigarh on Tuesday to ask their kind consideration in various issues of agriculture community of state and gave memorandum.
Deputationists demanded establishing State Agriculture Council for approval and setting up norms for running and new agriculture colleges in state and their registration with state agricultural university Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana as it is the pioneer institute of the state.
They also demanded establishing State Agriculture Licensing Authority. It was stated that the agriculture graduate degree is 4 year course covering all aspect of agriculture. The graduate degree should be treated as professional degree at par with veterinary science degree / Medical degree by giving licence to agriculture graduates for opening pesticides / Fertilizers / Seed Agencies / Shops, for, maintaining quality standards of inputs for farmer. Agriculture sector is continuously neglected by those who are helm of affairs.
