Ludhiana, December 23, 2018: AITUC to take all steps to ensure success of nationwide strike of workers on 8-9 January. In the Punjab state committee meeting of the AITUC held under the chairmanship of President Com Bant Singh Brar, strategy was planned for the success of the strike. Com Nirmal Singh Dhaliwal – Secretary AITUC Punjab presented a report of the preparations to the committee. He said that all affiliate unions of AITUC and other independent unions will participate in the strike. The call for the strike has been given by the Central Trade Unions against the anti worker and anti national policies of the Modi government. These policies which are serving only the corporate interests have ruined the economy and brought the nation to doll drums. The rights of the workers one after long drawn struggles are being taken away, job securities are being finished and contract system is being strengthen introduces with force. There is great resentment among all sections of workers against this and they are enthusiast to participate in the upcoming strike.
Com D P Maur said that in preparation to the strike a district level convention will be organized in Ludhiana on 27th December jointly by AITUC, CITU, INTUC and CTU.
