Air India Express inaugurates operations from Navi Mumbai International Airport
Operations from NMIA commence with daily flights to Bengaluru and five weekly services to Delhi, with frequencies increasing to twice-daily services to Bengaluru and a combination of daily and five weekly flights to Delhi from January 1, 2026.
Air India Express, India’s first international value carrier, inaugurated its services from Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) with direct flights to Bengaluru and Delhi. The airline is among the first carriers to commence commercial services from NMIA on the very day the airport opened for operations.
The first Air India Express flight from Navi Mumbai International Airport operated to Bengaluru, marking the commencement of the airline’s services from the new airport. The occasion was marked by a special ceremony at NMIA, during which the first guest was presented with a commemorative boarding pass.
Following the inaugural Bengaluru service, the airline’s inaugural Delhi flight is scheduled to depart from Navi Mumbai at 14:05 hours and arrive in the national capital at 16:20 hours.

Air India Express’ presence in Maharashtra continues to grow steadily, with over 130 weekly flights from Mumbai and around 105 weekly flights from Pune. The airline has also recently commenced operations from Nagpur, with 14 weekly flights operating twice daily to Bengaluru, the airline’s largest domestic hub.
The airline recently unveiled new cabin experience on its Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The upgraded cabin features seats with superior padding, wider armrests, and best-in-class legroom ranging from 29 to 38 inches. Each seat is equipped with in-seat USB charging ports, the cabins have ovens installed to serve hot ‘Gourmair’ meals, refreshed interiors with brand-new carpets, and advanced Boeing Sky Interior mood lighting, creating a modern, warm, and welcoming ambience that reflects the airline’s commitment to a comfortable and memorable flying experience.
The airline’s ‘Tales of India’ initiative brings India’s diverse cultural heritage to life through distinctive tail art inspired by regional crafts and traditions. Showcasing over 50 indigenous art forms from 25 states, the initiative is featured across the airline’s new aircraft, including Maharashtra’s iconic Warli painting and the exquisite Himroo and Paithani weaves.
