AICTE Recognises Panjab University as Nodal Centre for UHV for 2025–2027
Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has been recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as the Nodal Centre for Universal Human Values (UHV) for the North-Western Region for 2025–2027.
Chandigarh, March 30 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has been recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as the Nodal Centre for Universal Human Values (UHV) for the North-Western Region for 2025–2027.
The university was felicitated at the AICTE headquarters in New Delhi for this recognition.
This recognition has been conferred under the guidance and leadership of the PU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig, and reflects the collective efforts of PU’s UHV team towards promoting value-based education. Prof. Shankar Sehgal, UHV Cell Coordinator, received the award on behalf of the PU Vice Chancellor during the Vice Chancellors’ Conclave held at AICTE Headquarters on Sunday.
The award was presented by Prof. Yogesh Singh, Chairman, AICTE; Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, National Educational Technology Forum; Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Chairman, NCC-IP; and Prof. Shyama Rath, Member Secretary, AICTE.
The ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Directors, Principals, academicians and policymakers.
UHV Team members Prof. Shankar Sehgal and Dr. Garima Joshi expressed gratitude to AICTE for the honour and reiterated Panjab University’s commitment to advancing UHV initiatives through Faculty Development Programmes, workshops and academic curriculum aimed at nurturing responsible and value-conscious citizens.
