The two- day camp was conducted at 47 schools comprising 1750 SSLC students

Karnataka: With exam round the corner, Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore conducted a two-day motivation camp on January 24th & 25th for 47 schools at Chikamagalur to combat anxiety. Around 1750 SSLC students attended the two-day motivation camp, which is a part of the ‘Study and Exam Skills’ program initiated by Fortis School Mental Health Program. Ms Akanksha Pandey (clinical psychologist) and Dr.Venkatesh Babu (Psychiatrist), Fortis Bangalore, counselled SSLC Students about few strategies to deal with exam anxiety and share lifestyle management tips.

In the two day interactive session with SSLC students, doctors imparted skills on effective exam preparation, and guided them on goal setting, prioritization and time management to help them perform better in their exams.

Dr Venkatesh Babu, Consultant Psychologist, Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore, said, “It’s that time of the year when both students and parents feel the heat of exam pressure. While competitive spirit to some extent may be healthy, but sometimes the balance tips, leaving both parents and their wards anxious and stressed. We wanted to help students combat exam anxiety and pressure through an interactive session. We also shared few tips and techniques with students to enhance their memory and concentration during exams. We hope this session will help them overcome exam fear and anxiety and they will come out with flying colours”.

Ms Akanksha Pandey, Clinical Psychologist, Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore, said, “We conducted the session to help students to bring in few useful skills which they could use during their exams. This will help them develop a healthy attitude towards exams and also help them to study in a better and smarter way”.
