Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Shot nearly four decades ago, the long-awaited Hindi multi-starrer “Hum Mein Shahenshah Kaun” is finally ready to make its theatrical debut. For producer Raja Roy, this release marks the fulfillment of a dream that remained incomplete for years. Featuring legendary stars Rajinikanth, Shatrughan Sinha, and Hema Malini, the film is a powerful reminder of an era when star power, thunderous dialogues, and grand cinematic scale defined Indian cinema.
Directed by the late Harmesh Malhotra, the film brought together some of the most iconic names in Bollywood history—dialogue writers Salim–Faiz, music maestros Laxmikant–Pyarelal, lyricist Anand Bakshi, and ace choreographer Saroj Khan. Shot on 35mm Eastman color film, the project was technically and artistically ahead of its time. Unfortunately, personal tragedies and unforeseen circumstances prevented it from being released back then.
Decades later, the film has been revived thanks to the unwavering dedication of co-producers Aslam Mirza and Shabana Mirza. With the help of modern technology, the film has undergone AI-assisted restoration, 4K remastering, and 5.1 surround sound mastering, carefully preserving its classic soul while upgrading it for today’s cinematic standards.
Today, “Hum Mein Shahenshah Kaun” stands not just as a film, but as a testament to perseverance, resilience, and an enduring love for cinema—ready to reclaim its place on the silver screen at last.
