Administration sets up ‘SIR Help Desk’ to assist voters during electoral roll revision drive

Ludhiana, June 1, 2026: To ensure the smooth implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 process, the district administration has established a dedicated SIR Help Desk at room No. 12 of the district administrative complex to address queries related to electoral roll revision and voter verification.
The initiative aims to provide electors with easy access to information and assistance during the ongoing SIR exercise.
Officials said the help desk has been set up to address voter concerns regarding the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), besides assisting citizens with documentation, voter mapping, corrections, and other issues related to the SIR process.
The administration has urged residents to make maximum use of the support services being provided through the help desk and BLOs, especially as the district gears up to formally launch the SIR exercise from June 15.
The district administration has already achieved over 74.46 percent voter mapping under the pre-SIR exercise conducted across Ludhiana district.
To further facilitate voter participation, special camps will also be organised at polling booths across the district on June 7, where Booth Level Officers will remain available to assist electors with verification, corrections, and grievance redressal.
As per the schedule, the draft publication of electoral rolls will take place on August 3, 2026. The period for filing claims and objections will remain open from August 3 to September 2, 2026, while the process for disposal of claims and objections will continue until September 28, 2026.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent, inclusive, and citizen-friendly electoral revision process and urged voters to actively participate in the exercise to ensure error-free electoral rolls.
