Ludhiana, June 26, 2023:  The district administration on Monday got vacated the 7-acre, one kanal and 16 marla land from illegal encroachment in Hasanpur Billon village falling under Samrala sub-division.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik said that the a team of rural development and panchayat department led by BDPO Machhiwara Gurpreet Singh Mangat, Panchayat Officer Lakhwinder Singh, Kanungo Lovepreet Kaur, Revenue officials Amninder Singh, panchayat secretary Kuldeep Singh and local police took possession of the land from private individuals illegally occupied by them for last several years. She said that the land has now handed over to village panchayat for further action
Malik said that on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, every encroachment from panchayat land would be freed and drive would be continue in the coming days. She said that panchayat department was already finalizing the formalities to vacate other encroached lands in the district. She also expressed gratitude towards MLA Samrala Jagtar Singh Dyalpura for support in today's drive. 

Deputy Commissioner added that CM Bhagwant Mann had already given warning to the people who are illegally occupying government or panchayat land to face action if they do not surrender the land.
