Administration clears illegal garbage dump from near Abohar branch Canal Bridge in Gurusar Sudhar

Ludhiana, August 4, 2022: In order to prevent pollution in Abohar branch canal, the district administration has cleared the heaps of garbage being illegally dumped around the both sides of canal bridge between Gurusar Sudhar market and Air Force officers’ colony in Raikot sub-division on Ludhiana-Bathinda road.  

Providing further details, DC Surabhi Malik said that rural development and panchayat department was tasked to clear the garbage immediately when the matter was brought into the notice of the administration. She said that JCBs and tractor trolleys along with sufficient number of manpower was deployed at the spot to remove the garbage. 

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gurbir Singh Kohli further said that the officials were asked to sensitize the resident to not to throw eatables or garbage in the open as these will pollute the canal. He said that strict action would be initiated against those found littering here. He said that the administration was committed to ensure pollution free environment and it would take every step to prevent illegal dumping of garbage in the town.
