ADC pays floral tributes to Martyr Sukhdev on his birth anniversary

Ludhiana, May 15, 2026: Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Poonam Singh on Friday paid floral tributes to legendary freedom fighter Shaheed Sukhdev Ji on the occasion of his birth anniversary at his ancestral home in Mohalla Naughara.
Accompanied by National President of the Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar Memorial Trust, Ashok Thapar, and Tribhuvan Thapar, ADC Poonam Singh also formally inaugurated a direct access road from Chaura Bazar to the martyr’s ancestral house.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Singh said that Shaheed Sukhdev Ji, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji, and Shaheed Rajguru Ji made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, and the country would forever remain indebted to them. She stated that these great sons of the soil laid down their lives to free India from the shackles of foreign imperialism. She further remarked that it is because of the sacrifices of such martyrs that citizens today are able to live in an atmosphere of peace, freedom, and communal harmony.
“We must never forget our martyrs. They sacrificed their lives at a very young age, and it is now the responsibility of every citizen to work tirelessly for national unity, integrity, and progress,” said Singh. She added that the life, ideals, and philosophy of Shaheed Sukhdev Ji, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji, and Shaheed Rajguru Ji would continue to inspire generations to come.
ADC Poonam Singh also urged the youth to actively contribute towards eradicating social evils such as corruption, drug abuse, female foeticide, and illiteracy, stating that this would be the true tribute to the country’s martyrs.
