jalandhar, March 13, 2019: aDAVitya 2019, a 2-day national level annual technical festival was inaugurated on March 13, 2019 at DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar with great gusto and aplomb by the Chief Guest, Dr. R.K.Arya, Vice President, DAVCMC, New Delhi.
Mr.Arvind Ghai, Secretary, DVCMC, Sh. K.L. Aggarwal, Chairman, building sub- committee, DAVCMC, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Principal, DAV Dental College, Solan attended the inaugural ceremony as Guests of Honour. The inaugural function was attended by Dr. Gaurav Dhuria, HOD, ME, Dr. Neeru Malhotra, HOD, ECE, Dr. Vinay Chopra, HOD, MCA, Dr Harpreet Bajaj, HOD, CSE, Dr. Anil Soni, HOD, MBA, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, HOD, IT, Dr. K.L. Singh, HOD, Applied Science, Dr. Sanjeev Naval, HOD, CE, Dr. Sudhir Sharma, HOD, EE, faculty, staff of DAVIET and other colleges.
As per the DAV tradition the inaugural function began with the traditional lighting of the lamp.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET welcomed the Chief Guest and all dignitaries to aDAVitya-2019. He appreciated the hard work of the students. He stated that this tech-fest is a uniquely perceived platform where students get an opportunity to showcase their talent. He further stated that through the TechFest, it is aimed that the professionals from industry, scholars from academia and budding technocrats can interact with each other and can generate invaluable intellectual wealth which helps in pushing the boundaries of latest techniques. Talking about the Tech Fest, he said that it is aimed at bringing together budding engineers and managers on a competitive platform so that they may be provided with technical exposure and practical knowledge. He stated that, apart from doing well in academics, DAVIET is also the best in sports, cultural and placements. Further, he added that engineering education doesn’t only develop overall personality of the student but always make a humble attempt for the development of behavior and interpersonal skills.
Dr. Gaurav Dhuria, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Convener of the Tech Fest welcomed the chief guest and the dignitaries. He introduced the TechFest to all present and highlighted the role played by such Techno Cultural Extravaganza to develop the overall personality of the students. He brought to light the fact that aDAVitya-2019, a two day techno cultural fest has around 100 events lined up categorized under each department of engineering like CSE, IT, Mechanical, ECE, Civil, EE and miscellaneous events under the categories of literary, fun, arts, technical and many more. To keep the students abreast of the latest in their respective fields workshops on Python programming language, IoT, Designing of e-bikes were also organized. Students from various educational hubs such as Guru Nanak Dev University, DAV University, Punjab Technical University, Lovely Professional University, AMITY University, Lyallpur Khalsa Colllege of Engg & Technolology, Central Institute of Hand tools, CT group of Institutes, KCET Asr., SGGS Chandigarh and many more have got themselves registered for aDAVitya-2019.
The Chief Guest, Dr. R.K. Arya, showered his blessings upon the students and congratulated them for organizing such a mega event in this incredible manner. He appreciated the hard work put in by student organizers for this techfest. He applauded the work of Dr. Manoj Kumar, who had the vision and the determination to establish this institution.
He declared the TechFest aDAVitya 19 open. The Chief Guest inaugurated the Students’ Fine Arts Gallery. After the captivating Inaugural function, various techo-cultural events started with great enthusiasm at different venues in the Institution.
The Star Night was organized later in the evening in which the main attraction was the renowned Punjabi singer Gurnaam Bhullar who mesmerized the audience with his melodious voice and foot tapping music.
