Actress Neeru Bajwa provides monthly honorarium for Granthi Singhs in Border Villages 

In a humanitarian gesture, renowned Punjabi movies actress Neeru Bajwa, provided the first installment of monthly honorarium of Rs. 5,000 each for 13 granthi Singhs serving in gurdwaras of flood affected villages of this border district. Notably, Bajwa will provide this financial support for the next six months.

Ferozepur, September 18, 2025: In a humanitarian gesture, renowned Punjabi movies actress Neeru Bajwa, provided the first installment of monthly honorarium of Rs. 5,000 each for 13 granthi Singhs serving in gurdwaras of flood affected villages of this border district. Notably, Bajwa will provide this financial support for the next six months. 

While divulging details, Dr Surjit Singh Sidhu, Gurnam Singh Sidhu, Jagdeep Warring and other members of “Hambhla Foundation” which is doing commendable work in providing helping hand to the flood affected families, said that Bajwa was concerned about the people living near the border belt. “Earlier a survey had been conducted by the foundation during it had come to fore that the financial condition of few granthi singhs was not good following which the imitative had been taken by Bajwa through “Hambhla Foundation” 

SSP Bhupinder Singh distributed the amount among the “granthis” at Jhugge Hazara Singh Wala village today. SSP said that during the recent floods, the people of Punjab showed their strength of unity to the world. While appreciating the work done by Hambhla Foundation and Neeru Bajwa, SSP said more organizations should come forward and help the flood affected people. 

Punjabi Singer Inderjit Singh “Nikku” said that that during this tough time, Punjabi film and music industry is standing along with the flood victims. It is pertinent to mention here that Nikku had been staying in flood affected border villages and providing relief material to the flood victims
