Academic Visit to Haryana Vidhan Sabha/ Legislative Assembly 

Chandigarh, March 16, 2022: Fifteen Political science students along with 3 faculty members and the Chairperson (officiating) Prof. Neeraj Jain, visited the Haryana Vidhan Sabha/Legislative Assembly to witness the ensuing Budget session 2022, on March 16, 2022 (Wednesday), as a part of academic activity of Department of Evening Studies- Multidisciplinary Research Centre.

Remarking the visit as the first outdoor academic activity of the department after the beginning of offline classes, the Chairperson, Prof. Neeraj Jain, said “The motive behind the visit was to enable students to witness what they study in textbooks in real world. The department administration along with the co-operation of the faculty members, looks forward to organizing more of such academic visits for the benefit of students in near future”.

Prof. Harsukhjeet Kaur, Professor of Political Sciences said, “The purpose of the trip was to make students understand the working of the State Legislative Assembly.” Attending the Assembly session and watching the proceedings of Haryana vidhan sabha was nothing but a dream come true for these young leaders.

The Department would like to express their special gratitude to Mr. Ram Kumar (Student of M.A. Political Student), presently working at Haryana Vidhan Sabha and Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, Protocol Officer at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, for making the entire experience memorable for the students. The Department would also like to thank Mr. Digamber Gore and Mr. Jetender Kharbanda, office staff at DES-MDRC, for managing the entire visit smoothly and efficiently.
