Jalandhar May 14, 2017: putting an end to unnecessary expansion of technical education in the state at the cost of much needed quality, IKG PTU has decided to undertake consolidation measures based on quality parameters. University has taken strong and strict steps in last few weeks and now academic council of the University in its 50th meeting held at University campus chaired by Vice Chancellor Kahan Singh Pannu, IAS unanimously endorsed the approach of consolidation of technical education

IKG PTU Spokesperson informed that academic council has decided to focus only on technical education and decided to review non technical part time courses started in recent years.

Academic Council appreciated the steps for the promotion of qualitative improvement in technical education by starting random inspection of the affiliated institutes. This inspection will be conducted by University’s faculty only. As now IKG PTU has more than 80 PhD faculty members which will work to maintain quality education standards at main campus as well as affiliated institutions.

According to Spokesperson, Academic council advised all affiliated colleges to apply for NAAC accredition in a time bound manner as per UGC norms.

In a significant development University decided to conduct Golden Chance Examination but only at University’s main campus . It also decided to conduct a study to ascertain the reasons as to why students had to resort to golden chance exam after having availed maximum chances,with a view to take corrective measures in future.
