ABVP Announces Ludhiana City Unit on its 78th Foundation Day – Amit Goyal Re-elected as City President and Saket Sharma as City Secretary

Ludhiana, July 11, 2026: On 9 July, on the occasion of the 78th Foundation Day of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), National Students’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm. For the past 78 years, ABVP has been continuously working in the interest of the nation and students, striving to fulfil its objective of nation-building through student development.
The programme was graced by Dr. Rakesh Sharda, Project Coordinator, ICAR–CIPHET, as the Chief Guest, and Gaurav Veer Singh Sohal, President of the Students’ Union, Panjab University, as the Guest of Honour.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rakesh Sharda said that the youth are the greatest asset of any nation. He encouraged students to actively participate not only in academics but also in social responsibility and nation-building activities. He further stated that ABVP provides a strong platform for young people to develop leadership qualities, a spirit of service, and a deep sense of nationalism.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Veer Singh Sohal highlighted that ABVP is the world’s largest student organisation, with a membership of over 7.7 million. Since its establishment in 1949, soon after India’s Independence, the organisation has remained committed to the ideals of student development and nation-building. He remarked that ABVP’s role extends beyond addressing students’ concerns; it also works towards fostering national consciousness, social harmony, leadership, and the spirit of service among the youth, thereby shaping responsible citizens.
At the conclusion of the programme, Election Officer Dr. Vikas Phulia announced the ABVP Ludhiana City Executive Committee for the 2026–27 session. Amit Goyal was re-elected as the City President, while Saket Sharma was re-elected as the City Secretary.
Expressing their gratitude for the trust reposed in them by the organisation, Amit Goyal and Saket Sharma stated that they would continue to work with complete dedication and commitment in accordance with the ideology of ABVP and would further strengthen initiatives in the interest of students, society, and the nation.
Later, City President Amit Goyal announced the City Executive Committee. Neelu Thakur, Dr. Anil Taneja, and Dr. Vijay Kant were appointed as City Vice Presidents. Kushank Gupta, Simardeep Singh, Gandharv Khanna, Khushboo, and Priyanka Singh were appointed as City Joint Secretaries. Amrendra Kumar was appointed as City Social Media Convener, Hardik Singhania as Khelo Bharat Convener, Gautam Verma as SFD Convener, Roshan Sharma as SFD Co-convener, Anchita Gupta as SFS Convener, Bhavika Chaudhary as SFS Co-convener, Mannat Sharma as Pharma Vision Convener, and Akshat Sharma as AgriVision Convener. Vashika, Riya, Gautam Ratan, and Priyanshi were declared members of the City Executive Committee.
