New Delhi, April 25, 2023: Aayam Dance Troupe, one of the well-known dance groups, with a spectacular Bharatanatyam production titled Krishna Leela, which was dedicated to Lord Krishna. The event, held in collaboration with the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India, at Triveni Kala Sangam in Delhi and was attended by a huge number of people, including dance aficionados and Lord Krishna devotees. Shri Nitin Sharma composed the music, while Guru Smt Sindhu Mishra conceptualised and directed the production.

The dance performance was a beautiful depiction of Lord Krishna's life and teachings. The dancers displayed their extraordinary abilities by performing intricate footwork, delicate hand movements, and emotions that precisely portrayed Lord Krishna's qualities. The performance began with a devotional piece on Lord Ganesh called "Gaiye Ganapati Jag Vandan," taken from Saint Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas, and will close with a strong reflection of his devotional love for Ram and Sita, in which he pleads that they remain in his heart forever. This performance was presented in a gripping interplay of Hindustani and Carnatic tradition set to Raagam Charukeshi and Taalam Adi.

This was followed by Varnam, a vital component of Bharatanatyam that includes jathis (rhythmic patterns) and abhinaya. This dance is set to Raagam Malika and Taalam Adi. The poetry of this varnam comes from Soorsagar, where Maa Yashoda is reading the Ramayana to little Krishna, who dozes off in the middle of the narrative of Ravana abducting Sita but wakes up with a thundering summons to Laxman, asking for his bow. This varnam is designed to depict the eternal love between Ram and Sita, which may be seen in Ram's following incarnations. His unexpected and impulsive reaction, which causes him to forget his current incarnation, displays Ram and Sita's everlasting bond.

The evening came to an end with Kalinga Nartana Thillana composed by Oothukadu Venkata Subba Iyer set to Raagam Gambhira and Taalam Adi with. This thillana is about the child Krishna, who hops onto the serpent's hood and performs a famous dance known as Kalinga Naratana and fights him to prevent him from polluting the river Yamuna.

Talking about the production, Guru Smt Sindhu Mishra said, “The Aayam Dance Troupe is committed to promoting Indian culture through dance and to our art. We are happy to deliver this unique performance on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya and receive such abundant love from our audience.”

The dancers' impeccable execution of the choreography and ability to portray the tale of Lord Krishna via Bharatanatyam enthralled the audience. Many spectators were impressed by the performance's beauty and spirituality, and some even felt a strong connection to Lord Krishna. Traditional music and attire used in the production added to its overall visual appeal.
