Ludhiana, September 12, 2026: Punjab BJP State General Secretary Anil Sarin alleged that the protest against BJP leaders visiting Gulzar Singh’s family at Toor Banjara was carried out by AAP functionaries and workers from different areas, rather than local villagers.
The delegation comprising Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon, BJP national vice-president Manpreet Singh Badal, former Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar and former Punjab BJP president Ashwani Sharma was on its way to meet the bereaved family and express condolences when it was confronted and stopped.
Sarin alleged that AAP leaders and ministers immediately portrayed the incident in the media and on social media as a protest by villagers, saying the attempt was aimed at hiding the truth and misleading the people of Punjab.
Sarin asked the AAP government to explain why its office-bearers from outside Toor Banjara were present and who mobilised them, if the protest was genuinely a spontaneous reaction by villagers.
“If AAP has nothing to hide, why was the BJP delegation stopped from meeting the family? Who were the protesters, where did they come from, and who sent them? AAP must answer these questions before the people of Punjab,” Sarin said.
He added that the BJP would neither be intimidated nor silenced and would continue to raise the voice of affected families and demand justice.
