‘AAP’s bought MPs ran away; ‘fraud’ happened with the ‘fraud party’: Pargat

Jalandhar, April 24, 2026: Former Education Minister and MLA Pargat Singh targeted the seven Members of Parliament who left the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the BJP. He said that politics has become dirty. The ideological battle has now been reduced only to a struggle for power. Pargat said that members of the BJP’s B-team have returned to the main team. There is nothing surprising in this.
He taunted that it is not a big deal for a ‘fraud’ to happen with a ‘fraud party’.
Pargat alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party had selectively appointed MPs after taking money, who have now run away. He said that these Rajya Sabha members’ joining the BJP will not make any difference to Punjab, as except for one or two of them, none of them ever spoke about Punjab. Nor did they ever raise any issue related to Punjab in the Rajya Sabha.
Pargat said that after the farmers’ movement, the BJP realized that it could not establish itself in Punjab, so it helped its B-team, the Aam Aadmi Party, come to power in the state. The BJP knew that it could not get so many MPs from Punjab directly, so it got MPs appointed through the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that the BJP is the same “washing machine” that turns even the most tainted leaders into spotless white.
The former Education Minister also targeted Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for calling these leaders traitors. He said that it is not the MPs but the Aam Aadmi Party and the Chief Minister themselves who are traitors, who have misled the people of Punjab and betrayed them. The government has failed to fulfill any of its promises. He said that AAP MP Raghav Chadha also remained a “super CM” of Punjab for two years, and everyone will have to answer to the people of Punjab.
He said that the BJP uses agencies like the ED and CBI to intimidate leaders and force them to join its party, and similarly, Aam Aadmi Party is also doing the same in Punjab. The party will face more setbacks, as the ED has already visited the house of their minister Sanjeev Arora once, and action may soon be taken against other leaders as well.
He said that these “silent” MPs and MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party should be avoided by any party; what is the use of such people anyway? Public trust is being broken. People are losing faith in all pillars of democracy. First, these people’s duty should have been towards Punjab, not towards any party. He said that only the Congress is working in the interest of Punjab. He said that the BJP cannot make any impact in Punjab even if it contests elections alone.
