AAP Youth Wing Organises ‘Youth Run Punjab 2026’ In Jalandhar; Thousands Of Young Punjabis Run For Drug-Free & Healthy Punjab

Jalandhar, August 23, 2026: The ‘Youth Run Punjab 2026’ in Jalandhar turned into a powerful statement of Punjab’s changing youth culture, with thousands of young Punjabis and sportspersons running together for a drug-free, healthy and progressive Punjab. Organised by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Youth Wing as part of the ongoing ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’, the marathon sent a clear message of energy, confidence and hope, as Punjab’s youth chose sports, fitness and constructive pursuits over drugs and despair. The event also reflected Punjab’s transformation under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, with Punjab leaving behind its old ‘Udta Punjab’ image and emerging as a ‘Khelta-Daudta Punjab’ on the strength of its youth.
Senior AAP leader and AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia and CM Bhagwant Singh Mann’s OSD Rajbir Singh Ghumman flagged off the marathon and later distributed cash prizes of up to ₹11,000 to the winners, recognising their sporting performance. The event also saw participants receive T-shirts and participation medals, further encouraging Punjab’s youth to embrace sports, fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
Sharing a few snippets from this event, Manish Sisodia stated on X: “Marathon organised by the AAP Youth Wing in Jalandhar. This marathon was not just about running a few kilometres. It was the voice of a Punjab moving forward by leaving behind drugs, despair and the mindset of giving up. Under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann ji, these very young people are leaving behind the old image of ‘Udta Punjab’ and turning Punjab into a ‘Khelta-Daudta Punjab’.”
Addressing the gathering, Manish Sisodia said the marathon was much more than a race covering a few kilometres. “This marathon is the voice of a Punjab that is moving forward by leaving behind drugs, despair and the mindset of giving up,” he said.
The AAP Punjab Prabhari said, “Under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab’s youth are increasingly choosing sports, fitness and constructive pursuits. The participation of thousands of young people early in the morning demonstrates their energy, enthusiasm and determination to move in the right direction.”
“Those who once described Punjab as ‘Udta Punjab’ are now seeing a Punjab that runs, plays and moves forward. Today, it is a ‘Daudta Punjab’ and a ‘Khelta Punjab’,” Manish Sisodia said, congratulating the AAP Youth Wing and all the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, AAP Punjab Youth Development Board Chairman Parminder Singh Goldy said the overwhelming participation in the marathon reflected the growing enthusiasm among Punjab’s youth to contribute towards building a ‘Rangla Punjab’. “The AAP Youth Wing had been continuously working to mobilise young people across the state and connect them with constructive activities,” he added.
Parminder Singh Goldy said that under the guidance of Manish Sisodia and the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab’s youth were being provided a new direction and opportunities to move forward through education and sports. He congratulated the entire Youth Wing team, including President MLA Manjinder Singh Lalpura and Vice President Veer Davinder Singh, for successfully organising the event.
He appealed to the youth to make sports a part of their daily routine. “Even half an hour or an hour spent playing a sport can make a major difference. Together, we can contribute towards building a healthy and drug-free Punjab,” he said.
AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu said previous governments had pushed Punjab’s youth towards drugs, while the Mann government was working to bring them towards sports and education. “The massive gathering of young people in Jalandhar early in the morning is proof that Punjab is once again moving towards becoming a ‘Rangla Punjab’,” he added.
