AAP Punjab Chief Spokesperson Kuldeep Dhaliwal Strongly Condemns BJP Leader Gejja Ram’s Anti-Punjab Remarks
Punjabis Only Accept Their Rightful Share; Punjab Gives More than It Receives: Dhaliwal
Dhaliwal to BJP leader: It Is Not Modi’s Personal Money Nor BJP’s Office Funds
Chandigarh, November 20, 2025: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Thursday issued a sharp and unequivocal condemnation of BJP leader Gejja Ram’s recent statement, calling it “deeply objectionable, childish, shameful, and a reflection of the BJP’s anti-Punjab mindset.”
Dhaliwal said that Gejja Ram’s comments expose the BJP’s longstanding prejudice against Punjab and its people. “Gejja Ram shamelessly said that if Punjab does not like Narendra Modi, then Punjabis should return the money received under various central schemes. This is an extremely low-level and ignorant statement,” Dhaliwal said.
He strongly clarified that the funds Punjab receives are not a “favour” from the BJP or the Prime Minister. “Punjab contributes significantly to the nation through GST, taxes, and the hard work of our farmers and industries. Whatever financial assistance comes to Punjab is our rightful share. It is not Modi’s personal money, nor does it come from the BJP’s office,” Dhaliwal asserted.
The AAP leader reminded that Punjab is still waiting for its pending dues, including ₹800 crore RDF funds that the Centre has withheld. He questioned why the BJP has not compensated Punjab adequately for the losses caused by recent floods, despite announcing ₹1600 crore. “The Centre is trying to snatch our water, weaken our institutions, and now its leaders are insulting Punjabis with such irresponsible remarks,” he added.
Dhaliwal also slammed the BJP for its mistreatment of farmers during the historic farmers’ protest. “For one and a half years, lakhs of farmers sat on the roads of Delhi. Over 700 farmers were martyred. Modi did not give even five minutes to hear them. And today BJP leaders dare to question Punjabis’ rights?” he said.
Calling Gejja Ram’s statement a direct insult to Punjab, Dhaliwal said it mirrors the BJP’s anti-Punjab ideology. “This statement is not just unfortunate; it is disgraceful. AAP Punjab strongly condemns this mindset. Punjab has always given more than it has received, and no one can question our contribution to the nation,” Dhaliwal concluded.
