A seminar organised by the Journalism Department

Ludhiana, September 21, 2021: PCTE department of Journalism and Mass Communication organised a seminar on the working of journalists in this field involving an interactive session with the experienced journalists who also happened to be the faculty of the Journalism Department. The seminar was attended by budding journalists from different schools including BCM Shastri Nagar and GRD Academy and PCTE students. The panel consisted of Mr Dinesh Kumar, Dean - Journalism Department, Ms Harpreet Kaur Kang, Dean - International Affairs and Ms Anjali Dudeja, Coordinator - Journalism department.

During the seminar, the panellists shared their anecdotes and experiences from their careers in the Journalism field. Mr Dinesh Kumar shared his early days' experience in Amritsar, followed by defence reporting and later being the editor of Times of India.  Ms Kang shared her journey of being a journalist for 8 consecutive years. Ms Kang gave insights to the students on how the journalism sector works, one should be ready to face the challenges.  Ms Anjali shared the anecdotes from her career as a Radio Jockey & a Newsreader with National News channels.

The students interacted with the panel and asked questions that added value to the knowledge imparted at the seminar. The seminar concluded on a hearty note with Principal Gushminder Singh of GRD Academy delivering a thank you note on behalf of the academy and students.

Dr K.N.S. Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the entire team of the Journalism department on successfully organising the conference. “It’s great to gather students and professionals from Industry with common interests and background, with a purpose of seeking healthy discussions and their valuable inputs on the current status of the Industry.”
