Mumbai (Anil Bedag): The 7th death anniversary of Sardar Singh Suri, founder of Char Bangla Gurudwara Sahib, was observed with deep devotion, service, and Devotion. Thousands of devotees gathered to offer their respects through bhajan-kirtan, ardas, and a grand langar, creating an atmosphere filled with spirituality and reverence.
The occasion became even more special when veteran actor Prem Chopra paid an emotional tribute to Sardar Singh Suri. Sharing his heartfelt memories, he said that Suri was not just a noble soul but a guiding force who positively impacted many lives. He also recalled working with him as a hero in his very first film—an experience he cherishes to this day.
Sardar Singh Suri’s contribution extended beyond social service into cinema as well. His film “Ae Dharti Punjab Di” achieved remarkable success and won nine awards, which were presented by the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The film was further elevated by the soulful voices of Mohammed Rafi and Mahendra Kapoor. This commemorative gathering not only honored his memory but also reaffirmed his enduring legacy of humility, service, and dedication, continuing to inspire generations.
