90th Punjab Open Athletics Championship Under 18-20 (Boys & Girls) begins

Ludhiana, November 6, 2015: The 90th Punjab Open Athletics Championship under 18-20 (Boys and Girls) Men and Women Category started at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana from today onwards. Chief Guest Mr Paramraj Singh Umra Nangal I.P.S Commissioner of Police Ludhiana inaugurated the championship after taking Salute from the Athletic Teams from 22 Districts.
In his Inaugural speech he advised the Athletes to take active part in sports activity because physical activity make the body fit and a person becomes a good citizen with the attachment with Grounds. Mr. Joginder Singh Saini (Dronacharaya Awardee) Chief Coach, Indian Athletics team was also present on the occasion. The Chief Guest Applauded that The Punjab Athletics Association is running under the stewardship of two International Athletes Mr Satvir Singh Atwal and Mr K.P.S. Brar,  the Athletes of Punjab will being laurels to the state in the National and International level.
                   Mr K.P.S. Brar, Hony. General Secretary welcomed the Chief Guest and audience. Mr Satvir Singh Atwal, President Punjab Athletics Association thanked the Chief Guest and added that more than 1200 Athletes are flexing their muscles in this prestigious mega event. All the sufficient arrangements of Boarding, Meals and Transportation have been made for the Athletes.
                   The Athletes who bagged Gold, Silver and Browns medals in different events 5000 (Mtr. Walk) U-20 (Boys), 18 (Boys), 400 Mtr Hurdle U- 18 (Boys) and 400 Mtr Hurdle U- 20 (Boys) and 400 M Hurdle in Men Category was bestowed with the medals at the victory ceremony by the Chief Guest and other dignities. Other than present on the occasion were Mr Sukhbir Singh Grewal (Olympian) Director Punjab Institute of Sports (Training), Mr Teja Singh Dhaliwal, General Secretary Punjab Basketball Association. All the Secretaries and Presidents of the Districts Athletics Association were also present.
