Jalandhar, June 21, 2022: 8th International Yoga Day was elebrated at Doaba College in association with Bharat Swabhiman Trust and Patanjali Yog Samiti as part of the celebration of 75 years of India's Independence. 

Raman Arora-MLA Jalandhar Central and Rajesh Vij graced the occasion as Chief Guests, Dhruv Mittal- Treasurer, Doaba College Managing Committee, Kiran Chadha –Yoga Instructor, Rajeshwar, Rajinder Shingari, Ajay Malhotra, Kishan Lal Sharma graced the occasion as guests of honour. The dignitaries were accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari, Prof Sukhvinder Singh and Dr Suresh Mago- Coordinators, Prof Garima Chodha, Prof Surjeet Kaur, staff and nearly 1500 citizens of Jalandhar.

Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari said that it is indeed a matter of pride that Doaba College Jalandhar has been selected as one of the 75 locations across the country to celebrate International Yoga Day. He said that Yoga asanas are inseparable part of Indian culture and are a remedy for many ailments in human body.

The Chief guest, Raman Arora, MLA, quoted from Gurbani to highlight the importance of Yoga for health.

Kiran Chadda, Rajeshwar and Rajinder Shingari held a long practice session with demonstrations of various yoga asanas - Ardha chakrasana, Trikonasana,Vajrasana, Kapalbhati, Pranayama, Dhyana,  Sankalpa, Singh asana, Shirshasana, Halasana alongwith Haasya yoga exercises. Jaspreet and his team enthralled the audience with Bhangra.
