Dharamshala, May 23, 2025: A total of 864 candidates will appear for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination at three designated centers in Dharamshala on May 25, 2025. This was announced by Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa while presiding over a review meeting held to ensure smooth conduct of the exam.
The examination, conducted nationwide by the UPSC, will be held in two sessions: from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Candidates have been instructed to report to their respective centers at least one hour before the start of each session.
The three exam centers in Dharamshala are:
Government (Boys) Senior Secondary School, Dharamshala
Government (Girls) Senior Secondary School, Dharamshala
Government Postgraduate College, Dharamshala
UPSC Additional Secretary Pankaj Hazarika, Under Secretary Subhashish Roy, and Deep Pant were present at the review meeting. The officials provided detailed guidelines and briefed local authorities about their responsibilities to ensure the exam is conducted efficiently and fairly.
Deputy Commissioner Bairwa directed concerned departments to complete all necessary arrangements—including power supply, drinking water, and seating—well in advance. Security will be managed by local police personnel deployed at each examination center.
“The establishment of centers in Dharamshala will benefit candidates from Kangra and neighboring districts, reducing the need for long-distance travel,” said the Deputy Commissioner.
