The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Stadium, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. Ajay Nandan, General Manager, RCF, unfurled the National Flag, followed by the National Song and National Anthem and an impressive parade by contingents of RPF, St. John Ambulance Brigade, NCC, and Bharat Scouts & Guides.

Kapurthala, August 16 2026: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Stadium, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. Ajay Nandan, General Manager, RCF, unfurled the National Flag, followed by the National Song and National Anthem and an impressive parade by contingents of RPF, St. John Ambulance Brigade, NCC, and Bharat Scouts & Guides.
Addressing the gathering, Nandan paid homage to the freedom fighters and called upon everyone to uphold the values of unity, integrity, discipline and dedication. He highlighted RCF’s achievements in technological advancement, quality coach manufacturing and innovation, including RCFs record coach production during 2025-26, the updated Vande Bharat train set and coaches manufactured for export to Bangladesh Railways. He also appreciated RCF’s achievements in energy conservation, staff welfare, sports and other fields.
The celebrations were attended by Navita Nandan, President, RCF Women Welfare Organisation, Principal Heads of Departments, senior officers, employees and their families. A colourful cultural programme featuring performances by school students and RCF employees added to the festive spirit.
As part of the celebrations, Navita Nandan and her team visited RCF Hospital, presented useful gifts to hospital and distributed sweets among patients. In the evening, the RCF complex was illuminated beautifully, bringing the day-long celebrations to a memorable conclusion filled with patriotism, cultural vibrancy and community spirit.
