80th Annual Athletic Meet held at Doaba College 

Jalandhar, April 12, 2022: Doaba College Jalandhar organized 80th Annual Athletic Meet. The event started with the floral welcome of Chief Guest -Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Doaba College by Principal, Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, and Dr Ominder Johal, Prof Sukhvinder Singh, Prof Sandeep Chahal, Prof Gursimran Singh , Prof Rajni, Prof KK Yadav, Prof Arvind Nanda, staff students . 

The meet was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Chander Mohan, Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari,, members of organizing committee  by unfurling the National Flag.The day started with full enthusiasm of students in March Past. After lighting of the torch the athletes took an oath in full spirit. 
The Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari welcomed one and all and highlighted the achievements of the Sports Department. He appreciated the efforts of staff in organizing the event and students participation in the event inspite of harsh weather.In his Presidential address, 
Chander Mohan motivated the students to reach the sky with their persistent efforts by giving various examples of IPL players who have struggled hard and achieved heights. He also congratulated thePrincipal, staff and students for their participation in this mega athletic meet after the period of pandemic. He declared the meet open by releasing tri-coloured balloons in the sky. The Students from all  departments participated alongwith athletes  in various events like 50 m, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 4x100 m Relay , Shot-put, Three-legged race, Spoon and Marble race, Long Jump, Sack race, 50 m Back race. Cricket Matches were organized for boys, girls and Teaching and Non-Teaching staff. Player Naman and Non-Player Gurjit Singh bagged the title of Best Athlete in boys’ catergory whereas Player Parminder and Non-Player Shruti    remained Best Athlete in Girls section.
The event concluded with the Prize Distribution ceremony and vote of thanks by the Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari followed by the National Anthem.
