7th Intra-Department Mediation and Negotiation Competition 

Chandigarh, February 10, 2024:  To impart mediation and negotiation skills among budding lawyers, the ADR & CCL Board of University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University conducted the 7th Intra-Department Mediation and Negotiation Competition on 9th and 10th February. 

Initial registrations saw 240 teams, out of which the first 100 teams were selected to participate in the competition. The Final Rounds were judged by Justice Vikas Bahl, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court; Justice Ajay Tewari (Retd.); and Senior Advocate, Ashish Chopra. While stressing on the imperative of developing the skills of mediation and negotiation, they encouraged the students of UILS to explore fresh avenues in alternate dispute resolution. 

The event was held under the guidance of Prof. Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS, PU, and Dr. Sabina Salim, faculty coordinator. The Organizing Committee was led by Yuvraj Dhananjay, Convenor; Kritima; and Garv, Co-Convenors.

The participants showcased their exceptional mediation and negotiation skills, impressing both judges and audience in the preliminary, octa, semi and final rounds. 

The event provided a platform for aspiring mediators and negotiators to hone their abilities and gain valuable experience in the field of alternative dispute resolution. Following teams were Adjudicated as the winners –

Anvi Rana- Best Mediator 
Runners up – Chirag Chabbra, Tiya Mehta – Negotiating Pair
Guralam Singh Dhillon – Mediator
