Inter-Alumni Trophy Sees Contest Between Players from 24 Prestigious Schools; EVA Cup Witnesses Participation by 25 Ex-Students of Vivek High School

Chandigarh, April 5, 2026: The 7th Edition of the EVA Inter-Alumni Golf Tournament, organised by the Ex-Vivekite Association (EVA), in association with GB Legends, concluded with great enthusiasm, bringing together around 150 golfers representing 24 leading schools from across North India. The tournament was played over 18 holes in the Double Peoria format. Participants competed across multiple categories, with prizes worth ₹5 lakh awarded.
OYA (Old Yadvindrian Association – YPS, Mohali) won the Inter-Alumni Trophy while the EVA Cup was clinched by Angad Matharoo. The prize distribution ceremony saw participation of prominent dignitaries which included Manish Tewari, MP Chandigarh; Gurinder Bhatti, Founder & Chairman GB Realty; Advocate General Haryana, Pravindra Singh Chauhan & Naunihal Singh, ADGP, Punjab.
Notably, the tournament was supported by prominent corporations including GB Legends- an initiative of GB Realty for promotion of golf, Divine Group, Alchemist, and Ultralite.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Harkirat Sethi, President of EVA, emphasized that the tournament reflects EVA’s commitment to building stronger alumni networks through sports and shared experiences. Tarun Vir Lehal, Vice President, highlighted the growing participation and enthusiasm each year, while Gurdarshan Singh, Treasurer, appreciated the continued support from corporates and participants.
The Inter-Alumni Trophy, was won by the Old Yadavindrian Association (OYA) team comprising Maj. R.S. Virk, Sukirat Singh, and Vikram Bhagwan. The Ex-Vivekite Association (EVA) team of Varun Rao, Avirat Sundra, & Rabbiya Gill finished as runners-up, while the Sector 16 Model School Alumni team—featuring Justice Amit Rawal (Retd.), Deepak Bhardwaj, and Navjot Mann—secured the second runners-up spot.
In individual categories, Dilsher Grewal (SJOBA-St. John's Old Boys Association) won the Gross title with a score of 72, while M.P. Singh (AYOSA-YPS, Patiala) was runner-up with a score of 74. In the Double Peoria Stableford category, Rao Birender Singh (OSS-Old Sanawarian Society) secured the top position with 36 points (better back), followed by B.S. Gill (OC-Old Cottonian-Bishop Cotton School, Shimla), also with 36 points.
Special prize winners included Manteg Veer Singh (OYA) for Longest Drive (311 yards), Col. S.D.S. Baath (SJOBA) for Nearest to the Pin, and Aman Bhaika (OYA) for Straightest Drive.
The prestigious EVA Cup—contested exclusively among 25 EVA members from Vivek High School—was clinched by Angad Matharoo with a gross score of 77 (decided on a better back nine). Karman Singh finished as runner-up with an identical score. In the Double Peoria format, Arnav Sundra emerged as winner with 37 points, followed by Navtaj Sujlana with 36 points.
In the Ladies Category, Mehar Dhillon (EVA) won with 36 points, while Rabbiya Gill (EVA) finished runner-up with 34 points. Hanima Grewal (CESA-Carmel Convent) won the Longest Drive, and Aashi Jain (CESA) secured Nearest to the Pin.
Additionally, special prizes were awarded under the GB Legends category, where Anurag Chopra emerged winner with 36 points and Naunihal Singh finished runner-up with 34 points.
The participating school alumni associations included Vivek High School(EVA), St. John’s High School(SJOBA), Guru Nanak Public School(GNPS), DAV, Bishop Cotton School(BCS), YPS Mohali(OYA), PPS Nabha, St. Kabir School(KROS), Bhavan Vidyalaya(BOSS), St. Stephen’s(TOSS), Carmel Convent School, Manav Mangal School, Mayo College, Doon School, St. Theresa’s, Sector 16 Model School, Hansraj Public School, St. Anne’s, YPS Patiala(AYOSA), Springdale School, Strawberry Fields High School, The Lawrence School Sanawar, and Modern School, Barakhamba Road.
