79th Independence Day Celebrated at RCF Kapurthala
The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala. On this occasion, S.S. Mishra, General Manager, RCF, hoisted the National Flag and inspected the contingents of the Railway Protection Force, St. John Ambulance Brigade, NCC, and Scouts & Guides that participated in the parade.

Kapurthala, August 15: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala. On this occasion, S.S. Mishra, General Manager, RCF, hoisted the National Flag and inspected the contingents of the Railway Protection Force, St. John Ambulance Brigade, NCC, and Scouts & Guides that participated in the parade.
Addressing the gathering at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Stadium, General Manager Mishra extended his greetings on the nation’s Independence Day and paid tribute to the brave freedom fighters whose sacrifices made India’s independence possible.
Highlighting the achievements and future projects of RCF, Mishra informed that this year the factory is undertaking several significant assignments, including the production of the Vande Bharat Trainset, which is progressing at full pace. In addition, RCF will be manufacturing coaches for Vande Metro, Bangladesh Railways, High-Speed Accident Relief Trains, Self-Propelled Inspection Coaches, and Amrit Bharat Trainset Coaches. He lauded the dedicated efforts of RCF employees in striving to meet these ambitious targets and also acknowledged the achievements of all RCF departments.
On this occasion, Madumita Mishra, President, RCF Women’s Welfare Organisation, along with its members, RCF officers, employees, their families, and members of various unions and associations were present.
The celebration concluded with an impressive cultural programme, followed by the illumination of the RCF administrative office, lake complex, squares, and colony gates with colourful lights, creating a mesmerizing view at night.
