759 Farmers paid Rs 16.55 crore MSP within 24 hours: Ashu

Chandigarh, October 4, 2021: With a procurement of 43,799 MTs paddy on day two of the Kharif Season by the government agencies, the state government has till now procured 67,263 MTs of paddy in Central Pool this season.
 
Disclosing this here today, the Food Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that in total 72474 MTs paddy has been already procured out of which 5200 MTs has been procured by private millers. Total of 104119 MTs of paddy has so far arrived in the mandis of Punjab. As many as 759 farmers have already been paid Rs 16.55 Crores for their produce in less than 24 hours of the procurement.
 
Reiterating the State Government's commitment to ensure a hassle-free procurement experience for farmers, Ashu said that all arrangements are in place to ensure not even a single farmer faces any hurdle during the season.

 

FIR REGISTERED IN MANSA FOR BRINGING NORMAL PADDY FROM OTHER STATES INTO PUNJAB UNDER THE GUISE OF BASMATI: ASHU
Chandigarh, October 4, 2021: Food and Civil Supplies department has get registered a FIR in Mansa  for  bringing normal paddy from other states into Punjab under the guise of Basmati.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Punjab Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu informed here today that   a interstate Barricade has set up at  Sardulgarh road where  department officials stopped one truck comming from Rajasthan side and found  that truck carrying a normal paddy into Punjab under the guise of Basmati.Following which a FIR no 169 dated  04-10-21 had been got registered against Pal Singh and Gurmeet Singh under section 420 and 188 of IPC at Sardulgarh Police station.
Mr. Ashu further said that  to check recycling /Bogus billing of peddy 150 flying squad had established through out the State.
