The training is being organized by the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Government of Punjab, under the expert supervision of Prof. Dr. Jog Singh Bhatia (Senior Consultant, MGSIPA, and Course Director). This program is sponsored by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Government of India, and the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), Punjab.
A total of 500 volunteers are participating in this intensive camp, comprising 250 volunteers from the National Service Scheme (NSS) and 250 from the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS).
On the inaugural day, following the registration process, an introductory session on the "Basics of Disaster Management" was conducted. The expert instructor team from MGSIPA—including Harkirat Singh Arora (Course Coordinator), Mandeep Kumar, Ranjeet Singh Bhatia, Komal, Deenakshi, Manjit Kaur, Davinder Kaur, Pooja, Johnson, and Sukhchain Singh—interacted with the volunteers, laying the theoretical foundation for the field exercises to follow.
