7 Day Special NSS Camp begins in Doaba College

Jalandhar, December 23, 2023: NSS Unit of Doaba College Jalandhar inaugurated 7 Days Special NSS Camp with theme “Viksit Bharat”. The camp was formally inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Rohit from Hawk Riders Club, Pardeep Kumar,  Sarpanch of Ballan Village and Dr. Arshdeep Singh, Coordinator NSS. The chief guest of the event Rohit and Pardeep Kumar were given floral welcome by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari and Dr. Arshdep Singh.

Principal, Dr Pardeep Bhandari stressed upon students the central idea of “Seva Parmo Dharma” and encouraged volunteers for whole hearted participation in all the activities during the camp. Dr. Bhandari urged NSS Volunteers to follow the NSS motto Not me But You.

NSS Coordinator, Dr. Arshdeep Singh briefed about importance and relevance of National Service Scheme. He also appraised volunteers about  major activities to be conducted in seven days special NSS camp. Rohit  encouraged NSS volunteers to work hard with positive frame of mind to increase their work efficiency. Pardeep Kumar also guided students to keep their focus on work and ignore problems. The inaugural ceremony was followed by a visit to Botanical Garden of the college where Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Department of Botany taught volunteers about medicinal properties of various plants. Volunteers were also demonstrated the process of preparation of vermicompost and vermiwash. Thereafter, students also performed cleanliness drive in Botanical garden. More than 60 NSS volunteers and 7 Programme officers were present during the inauguration.
