7-Day NSS Camp concluded at Ramgarhia Girls College

Ludhiana, December 29, 2023: The 7-day NSS Camp concluded at Ramgarhia Girls College 29.12.2023 Under the stewardship of Ranjodh Singh, President Ramgarhia Educational Council and Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur, the 7-day NSS camp (December 23-29) concluded successfully with the support of the Programme Officers Dr. Harbinder Kaur, Prof. Kiran Bala and Prof. Heena. Keeping in view the motto of the camp ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan- Meri Mati Mera Desh’ various activities were conducted during all seven days.

The beginning of the days was marked with Shabad Gayan followed by Yoga, Meditation, and cleaning of the campus. Planting trees, Painting the campus, Poster Making and Slogan Writing competitions, Guidance about making the best out of waste, March to spread awareness about the importance of a Drug-free Punjab and Pollution Free Natural Environment were taken out, then a skit was presented to spread awareness about the disease like AIDS, Lectures on Personal grooming and Personality Development were conducted, participation in the traditional games of Punjab in the College ground, Talk on Women Empowerment, then the talk on Road Safety and Traffic Rules by the Traffic Police, and lectures on Cybercrime, Disaster management and First Aid by the representatives of Cyber Crime and Defence department were conducted. Observing the ‘Safar-e-Shadat’ of the Char Sahibzadas and Mata Gujari ji the Movie “ Char Sahibzade’ was shown to the students and a visit to Gurudwara Shri Degsar Sahib, Katani Kalan was organized. The students also paid a visit to the Museum representing Punjabi culture and The Uppal Museum of Land, Water and Power Resources of North Western India, PAU, Ludhiana. The Eye checkup of volunteers by the team of expert doctors was also organized. The activities also included a visit to Shri Vivekanand Swarg Ashram where the students met the senior citizens, then they also paid a visit to the slum areas and taught the children there. The volunteers were made aware of their duties toward society and were inspired to become good citizens.

Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur, Ranjodh Singh, President, and Gurcharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council, congratulated the Programme Officers on the successful completion of the camp. Talking about their experiences the volunteers said that this camp has helped them understand the value of being a responsible citizen and has also enhanced their knowledge on important topics like self-care and discipline. The basic idea of NSS is ‘Not me but you’. Separate committees were formed to conduct various activities and they performed their duties well. On the last day of the Camp, prizes were distributed among the winners of the competitions conducted.

Principal applauded the efforts of the volunteers and blessed them to do selfless service to society in the future. Programme Officers Dr. Harbinder Kaur, Prof. Kiran Bala, and Prof. Heena also thanked the volunteers for maintaining discipline and obedience during the NSS Camp.
