6th K. C. Shenmar Memorial Lecture Organised by PUAA at Panjab University
The Panjab University Alumni Association (PUAA), in collaboration with the Department of Economics, Panjab University, today organised the 6th K. C. Shenmar Memorial Lecture at the Law Auditorium, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, February 27, 2026: The Panjab University Alumni Association (PUAA), in collaboration with the Department of Economics, Panjab University, today organised the 6th K. C. Shenmar Memorial Lecture at the Law Auditorium, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Smt. Preeti Sudan, Former Chairman, UPSC, Government of India on “My Professional Experience in Policy Making for Social Equity: A Personal Account”. Drawing from her extensive experience in public administration, she discussed the challenges and responsibilities involved in policy making for social equity, highlighting the importance of inclusive, evidence-based, and ethically grounded governance.
The programme commenced with the welcome note by the Dean, Alumni Relations, Prof. Latika Sharma followed by the address of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig, where she emphasised on the university’s role in promoting socially relevant academic discourse.
The programme was further enriched by the address from the Guest of Honour, Dr. Vinod K. Paul, Member, NITI Aayog, Government of India, who shared perspectives on development planning and inclusive growth.
The biannual newsletter (June–December 2025) of the Department of Economics, Panjab University, Chandigarh was also released by the esteemed guests at the event.The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Smita Sharma, Chairperson, Department of Economics, Panjab University
