Hyderabad, August 25, 2019: The 8day Tetrasoft 1st International Grand Master(above 1700) Chess Tournament currently underway in the city has registering more setbacks each passing day. Hari Madhava of Tamil Nadu upset Chili Grand Master Rodrigo during the 8th round at Tetrasoft Grand Master Tournament. Grand Master Adam Tulheav is the sole leader with 7 points after 8 rounds on Sunday. On 2nd board 3rd seed GM Adam Tukhaev of Ukraine scored seven points won against GM Laxman R.R. of ICF India and became sole leader. After eight round leaders are trying to win Championship by closing margin between them. GM Adam Tukhaev closely followed by GM Mosadeghpour Masoud, IM Triapishko Alexandr and Hari Madhavan N B scored 6.5 points each. On 1st board, GM Mosadeghpour Masoud of Iran opened game with Kings pawn to e4. The opponent IM Khusenkhojaev Muhammad of Tajikishtan replied with Kings pawn to e5. Then they moved 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nf6 4. d3 Bc5 5. c3 O-O which finally Ruy Lopez opening with Berlin Defence variation. On 73rd move White is having Knight and Pawn while opponent is having Bishop and King is near promotion square. Therefore, both agreed for draw. On 2nd board, GM Tukhaev Adam of Ukraine started game with Nf3 and the opponent GM Laxman R.R. of ICF India replied with Nf6 which is called as Reti opening. Changed course of game with 2nd white move to c4 from Reti to Grunfield Defence. Later on game continued in Original Defence variation of Neo-Grunfield defence. On 50th Move Laxman accepted defeat. On 3rd board, IM Rathnakaran K. of Southern Railway - India started game with Kings pawn at e4. The opponent GM Savchenko Boris of Russia replied with c5 selected Sicilian Defence. The game converted to Acclerated Dragon variation from Sicilian defence. Nobody is able to progress in situation agreed draw at 65th move. On 4th board, Bharat Kumar Reddy Poluri of Andhra Pradesh - India opened game with Kings pawn to e4. The opponent IM Triapishko Alexandr of replied with Kings pawn to e5. Third move Bb5 selected Ruy Lopez by Bharat Kumar while Alexandr selected variation as Cozio Defence. On 31st move accepted draw by both players and game ended. On 5th board, Hari Madhavan N B of Tamil Nadu - India opened game with Nf3. The opponent GM Vasquez Schroeder Rodrigo of Chile replied with d5 the Queens pawn. The opening selected by Rodrigo is Slav Defence. Then in few moves they selected Exchange variation. On 37th move Hari captured opponents Knight at g8 with his Bishop. And Rodrigo accepted his defeat. On 6th board, IM Muthaiah Al of Tamil Nadu - India opened game with c4 the English opening. The opponent Sahoo Utkal Ranjan of Odisha - India replied with Nf6 the variation Anglo Indian Defence. No one able to break open till 117th move. And agreed for draw. On 7th board, Varun V of Andhra Pradesh - India moved pawn to e4 selected opening as King's pawn opening. The opponent GM Karthikeyan P. of ICF replied with Robatsch (modern) defence (also called as King Pawn Fianchetto) by playing g6. The game concluded in 49 move with draw since nobody is able to promote as well as both are having opposite colour Bishop with them limited chance of win to draw. On 8th board, Dahale Atul of Maharashtra - India played de Queen’s pawn opening. The opponent Pranav V of Tamil Nadu - India replied with Nf6. The game continued as 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Bb4 taken shape under Nimzo-Indian Defence and followed variation as Schlechter Defence. Atul checkmated Pranav on 61st move. On 9th board, Raju J.K. of Telangana - India moved pawn to e4 selected opening as King's pawn opening. The opponent Kaustuv Kundu of West Bengal - India replied with c5 selected Sicilian Defence.
