67th School National Games inaugurated with much fanfare and Enthusiasm

Punjab education is heading for the revolutionary change these days and special coaching, lectures and interactive academic programs for the school students are being organised for government school students; so as to make them competent enough, to crack UPSC exams, said Education Minister Punjab, Harjot Singh Bains while inaugurating 67th National School Games here at Punjab Agricultural University grounds today.

Ludhiana, January 6, 2024: Punjab education is heading for the revolutionary change these days and special coaching, lectures and interactive academic programs for the school students are being organised for government school students; so as to make them competent enough, to crack UPSC exams, said Education Minister Punjab, Harjot Singh Bains while inaugurating 67th National School Games here at Punjab Agricultural University grounds today. 
 
Bains said, “National games strengthen National integration and brotherhood between different states, cultures of the country and play a vital role in strengthening the health and education system of the states and the country as well.” 

Bains monitored the March Past of 36 contingents from all states and union territories of the country. National games started with much fanfare and great enthusiasm amongst cheers by thousands of the students and spectators on this occasion. 

Education Minister Bains along with Education department officials released ‘colourful balloons‘ in the air, depicting peace ;harmony and promoting sportsculture.

Colourful multi-cultural extravaganza depicting intangible heritage of Punjab was presented on this occasion, Giddha and Bhangra by more than dozen schools of the district and choreographic dances showcasing Indian folk traditions attracted the attention of sports participants from all over the country. Oath was administered to all participants by student Rasleen Kaur. Education Minister hoisted the flag of school Federation of India.

Deputy director, Sushil Bhardwaj welcomed all the participants ,officials , guests on this occasion. District Education Officer (DEO) Secondary Dimple Madaan thanked all the guests. Principal Santokh Singh Gill compered the event and March-Past narrating the folklore, history, etc of each state and UT participating in these games.    

Education Minister, Bains felicitated Kanwarpreet Kaur, International Judo player of Punjab. On this occasion he also honoured few other personalities.   

Among those present on this occasion included Deputy Commissioner Surbhi Malik, Daljit Singh Grewal MLA, Gurpreet Bassi Gogi MLA, Kulwant Singh Sidhu MLA, Dr Satvir Singh Gosal, Vice Chancellor of PAU, Deputy DEO Jaswinder Singh Virk, DEO(Elementary ) Baldev Singh, Deputy DEO elementary Manoj Kumar, Prof Nirmal Jaura , District sports coordinator Kulvir Singh; Sports coach Ajitpal Singh ; School Principals, Heads and various Sports committee members.

District sports coordinator Kulvir Singh, Media Coordinator Principal Dr Davinder Singh Chhina, Principal Kanwaljot Kaur shared the results of football girls matches held today.

Bihar vs Orissa 
Bihar trounced Orissa by 3-0 football girls match 

Jharkhand vs Uttarakhand:

Jharkhand was winner defeating Uttarakhand 12-0 goals in football girls’ match
