665 vacancies created in Medical Colleges: Anil Joshi

Chandigarh, February 11, 2014: The Punjab Medical Education and Research Department has created 665 new vacancies of faculty and para medical staff to further strengthen the Medical infrastructure and service delivery system in the Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals. Besides this instructions have also been issued to convene the meeting of departmental promotion committee under the present rule and regulations. It was disclosed by Punjab Medical Education and Research Minister Anil Joshi here today.
Joshi further said that 326 seats for senior residents would also be filled. Further discussing the steps taken by Punjab government for the development of basic medical education in Punjab he said that a sum of Rs. 29 crore has been released for the up gradation of Government Medical College and Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. He further said that an amount of Rs. 150 crore has been released by Union ministry of health and family welfare for the up gradation of Government Medical College, Patiala.
Joshi also said that efforts are on to fill the remaining vacant medical seats and also expressed hope of increase in MBBS seats from 150 to 250 in Government Medical colleges of Amritsar and Patiala.// punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news, world news,
