65th Senior Punjab State Basketball Championship concluded at LPU

Jalandhar, July 21, 2015: Packed with sports agility & thrills, 65th Senior Punjab State Basketball Championship 2014-15 concluded at the campus courts of host Lovely Professional University. The four-day championship crowned Amritsar Women and Ludhiana Men as Champions. Sonam of Amritsar and Arshdeep of Ludhiana are declared the best female and male players of the championship. LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal messaged to congratulate the winners and to inspire all other participating teams. District Basketball Association had organized the championship from 17th to 20th July 2015 which lasted up till late in the night for final matches.

In the women league matches Amritsar team was declared winner as it beat Ludhiana by earning 55-54 scores respectively, Mansa district team by 70-67 and Jalandhar team by 51-33. In other matches Jalandhar beat Mansa by 53-41 and Ludhiana team by 61-52. Mansa did not win any of the league matches by getting defeated from Ludhiana also by 52-18 scores. Along with Amritsar as Champions, Jalandhar team remained 1st Runner-up and Ludhiana second runner-up.

In the men league matches Ludhiana Academy was declared winner as it beat Jalandhar by earning 61-49 scores respectively and Amritsar district team by 51-39. In other matches Jalandhar beat Amritsar by 51-44 and Kapurthala district by 66-61. Amritsar men team did not win any of the league matches. Amritsar team was defeated by all other league matches entrants- Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Kapurthala teams. Along with Ludhiana Academy as Champions, Kapurthala team remained 1st Runner-up and Jalandhar second runner-up.
