5th ODI: Fake tickets network busted in Dharamsala

The HPCA stadium at Dharamsala where 5th ODI is being played between India and England on Sunday.

Dharamsala, January 27, 2013: Himachal police have unearthed the fake ticket network in the India-England ODI being played at HPCA Stadium at Dharamsala on Sunday.

Disclosing this SP Kangra Balbir Thakur said, “Around 50 ticket of different stands varying from the value of Rs 1,000 to Rs. 5,000 were captured at  the gates, which were found scanned with fake official signatures and seat numbers”.

SP told that police had spread the net on the tip of security inputs but still unable to capture many such spectators before their entry in the stadium.

IG North Rakesh Aggarwal said that a thorough investigation has been ordered in this regard. He does not over ruled the hand of the connecting agencies. Police are enquiring from the ticketing agency Kyazoonga about the matter and help has been sought from the HPCA officials.

The hill town of Dharamsala has hosted its first ODI and a lot of such fake entries were estimated because of only 22,000 sitting capacity.
