5th Free Artificial Limb Distribution Camp

Ludhiana, November 30, 2014: Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association Ludhiana organised 5th Free Artificial Limb Distribution Camp at Viklang Sahayta Kender, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana today. A total 33 physically handicapped persons were given Artificial Limbs, Calipers, & Hearing Aids during the camp.
S.P Karkara, Chairman Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association Ludhiana (SCWAL) who is also President of Federation of Senior Citizens’ Associations Punjab, briefly mentioned about matters concerning senior citizens taken up with the State & District Administration like providing better health facilities, security etc. to senior citizens. He appreciated the efforts of Bharat Vikas Parishad for holding such camps regularly to help the needy handicapped persons.
Narinder Mittal Secretary BVP informed the gathering that BVP has been serving the physically handicapped persons since 1996 and has provided Artificial Limbs, Calipers, Tricycles, Wheel Chairs and Hearing Aids to more than 42000 persons. He thanked the Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association for their                 co-operation and financial help in holding the camp.
Earlier Er. Balbir Singh President of the Association welcomed the members of the Association, BVP Trustees and the beneficiaries. He also briefly spoke about various programmes undertaken by the Association such as Eye Check-up Camps, Multi-Specialty Medical Check-up Camps and Awareness Camps etc.
