5,000 people to perform mass yoga at MDU on June 18; - Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal reviews preparations
A grand district-level Yoga Day event is being organized at MDU on June 18 in the context of the 12th International Yoga Day-2026, and preparations for it are in full swing. Approximately 5,000 participants will take part in this mega event, which will be held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Cricket Stadium located on the MDU campus.
Rohtak, June 16, 2026: A grand district-level Yoga Day event is being organized at MDU on June 18 in the context of the 12th International Yoga Day-2026, and preparations for it are in full swing. Approximately 5,000 participants will take part in this mega event, which will be held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Cricket Stadium located on the MDU campus.
On Tuesday, Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal visited the venue to review the preparations and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials. During the visit, the Registrar reviewed the seating arrangements, cleanliness, drinking water facilities, security, parking, and amenities for the participants at the venue. He directed the officials to complete all arrangements well in time.
Meanwhile, Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Sapna Garg provided details regarding the event's outline and arrangements. She informed that university faculty, staff, students, research scholars, and representatives from various institutions would participate in the event, scheduled for June 18 from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM. A mass yoga session will be conducted under the guidance of yoga experts.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia appealed to students, teachers, staff, and the general public to participate enthusiastically in this Yoga Day event. He stated that yoga is the foundation of a healthy body, a calm mind, and a positive life. In today's stressful times, making yoga a part of one's lifestyle is the need of the hour. According to the university administration, in line with this year's Yoga Day theme—"Yoga in Every Home, Yoga Every Day"—people will be encouraged to adopt yoga in their daily lives.
Sports Director Dr. Shakuntala Beniwal, Superintending Engineer J.S. Dahiya, Director of Youth Welfare Dr. Pratap Rathi, Dr. Anjali Duhan, and other officials were present on the occasion.
